My Chimera

Today for writing I created a Chimera using two different animals. I found putting the story together. I liked creating my animal out of a print out and found this part easy.

ANZAC Survival

I watched videos about life in the trenches for ANZACs. I built my own trench out of lego. It has a wall for protecting the soldiers from bullets, guns to shoot the enemy, rats running around and water for survival.

This is my menu for a ANZAC soldier:
Breakfast: 2x hard dry biscuits
Lunch: Just a bit of water
Dinner: Corn Beef out of a can
Dessert: 1 teaspoon of jam

Stick Tower

For my writing today I chose to build something out of sticks and stones and write about it. I liked constructing the tower to start, I also found this to be the easy step. What I found hard was coming up with ideas to write about. I also added a simile as this is what I need to work on.

My Spaceship Writing

Today I created a spaceship out of lego. I then wrote a story about my trip to space. I really liked building my spaceship and using the onomatopoeia words. I found the coming up with ideas for similes difficult. Here is my story: 

Hero's

Today in school at home our task was to choose a hero to research and write about. I chose to write about fire fighters. I liked typing the research up. I was good at finding the information on the internet. I found some of the words difficult to spell. The things I learnt today were what fire fighters do for their job and how to research questions.

What are fire fighters?

Fire fighters are people who are paid or are volunteers with the main job of putting out dangerous fires that threaten people or property 

What job do they do? 

Save peoples lives.

Put out fires. 

Clean equipment. 

Help injured people.

Cut cars open to get people out.

They drive fire engines..

How do they prepare for their job?

A 12 week training course.

First aid

Fitness 

Volunteer 

Why are fire men and fire women heroes?

Describe actions that might be heroic that they do.

Because they help the world. And put out dangerous fires, saving our houses and people and pets lives. Most firefighters are volunteers which means they don't get paid.

Who Am I?

 Today I made a who am I poem at home. This helped me with my spelling & writing. I found the spelling easy. I learnt more about the way the animal looks.

I have green eyes.

I have big horns.

I have a small tail.

I have a brown body and withe spots on my back.

I have four big hooves.

Maths 1 Maths: Geometry Safari

\This term for maths we have been learning about 2D and 3D geometry. Fred, Barney and I were in a team. We went on a Geometry Safari around the school grounds to see how many 2D and 3D shapes we could find. Then we had to write what we had found into a table. You can see ours below.
